Woodgreen Village Hall

Located in the North West corner of the 'New Forest National Park', Woodgreen hides a secret.

Built in the 1930's, the village hall outwardly is a rather typical example of community buildings of that era. However, when you enter the main hall you are greeted by something special and unique which is the reason the hall has a Grade2 listing.

Inside the hall the internal walls from dado rail to ceiling have been decorated with murals depicting village life as it was in the 1930's when they were painted. Read More

'The Village on the Wall'

In the 1970's the BBC series - 'Yesterday's Witness' - featured the hall and the murals.  'Village on the Wall'   included interviews with the artists (now deceased) and many of those village characters who were depicted on the murals over a period of 12 months in scenes of village life at that time.

'A unique venue to hire'

Woodgreen Village hall is a unique venue to stage various events. The murals form a stunning backdrop for that special day - weddings - craft shows - parties - business seminars etc. The village hall provides good parking, a sheltered sunny rear patio and a grassed area to the rear suitable for marquees. The facilities include a well appointed kitchen, banquet chairs and tables and a PA system with fitted induction loop.
